The energy in the room at our Living Wage Cities Assembly was electric!

It was inspiring to welcome more than 30 civil society organisations from across the faith, union, and community sectors, all committing to a shared vision: making Greater Wellington a region of Living Wage Cities.

This wasn't just another meeting—it was the beginning of a movement. Together, we mapped out a plan to build the relationships, leadership, and collective action needed to win Living Wage commitments across our councils and public institutions.

By organising together at a local level, we're not only creating change in Greater Wellington—we're building the people power needed to win gains for workers across Aotearoa. Every new organisation, volunteer, and campaign strengthens our movement and brings us closer to a future where everyone is paid enough to live with dignity.

A huge thank you to everyone who brought their passion, experience, and commitment to the room. This is what solidarity looks like, and we're just getting started. ✊💚
