Bill Hiku Calls on New Zealanders to Attend Living Wage Election Forum

Bill Hiku, a caretaker from Porirua College, he is encouraging people to attend the Living Wage Election Forum on 2 September and hear directly from political party leaders about their plans for workers and fair pay.

For workers like Bill, the Living Wage is about more than an hourly rate. It is about being able to meet the rising cost of living, support whānau, and have greater security and dignity in everyday life. As someone who helps keep workplaces safe, clean and welcoming, he understands the value of the work carried out by thousands of people across Aotearoa who often work behind the scenes to keep our communities running.

The Election Forum is an opportunity to put workers' voices at the centre of the political conversation and ask candidates what they will do to support workers and ensure everyone can earn enough to live with dignity.

Bill is encouraging others to come along, get informed, and make their voices heard ahead of the election.
