The updated Living Wage rate for 2026–27 will be $29.90 per hour, effective from 1 September 2026.

This rate is updated annually by the Family Centre Social Policy Research Unit, based on movements in the average ordinary hourly earnings from the previous December quarter. Every five years the methodology is fully reviewed - the last review was in 2023.

The Living Wage ensures that workers and their families can meet basic living costs and participate fully in society with dignity.
